Grief Recovery Method & Mastering Your Mental Health 

“If your heart is broken, then your mind can’t soar.”

Dr. Snodgrass is certified to guide you through the Grief Recovery Method®, the most comprehensive Grief Recovery education and certification in the world. The program has been proven to be evidence based and effective by Kent State University. 

After completing this training customized to groups or individuals, attendees will have learned how to effectively navigate the grief process and heal from loss of loved ones, hopes, dreams, expectations and wishing that things were different, better or more. 

Best for audience type: Anyone and everyone who desires to grow through grief and help others do the same. Nonprofit and organizational leaders, faith-based leaders, school personnel, healthcare workers, front-line workers. funeral home teams, and criminal justice professionals. 

Desired Outcomes: To help everyone navigate through grief in a healthy manner by normalizing grief, identifying it and taking away any shame associated with it. 

For small groups (up to 7 participants): This 8-week course features a 2-hour session. Held once weekly, followed with a mandatory assignment. Books and materials, included. 

For individuals: This 7-week course encompasses a 1-hour session. Held once weekly, each session is followed with a mandatory assignment. Books and materials, included. 


JUSTice for the Health of It - How to become a Health Equity Advocate and move the delivery of healthcare from transactional to transformational.

In this day-long workshop, Dr. Snodgrass will show participants how to move the delivery of care, information, services and resources from transactional to transformational. The training encompasses nine modules: Bias, Micro-aggressions, Oppression, Cultural Competence, Social Determinants of Health, Health Disparities, Systemic Racism, Historical Underpinnings, Advocacy and Collaboration. 

Participants will be asked to take three assessments during this workshop: Intercultural Development Inventory; Emotional Intelligence Skills Assessment and Implicit Association Test.

Best for audience type: Small companies, federally qualified community health centers, community leaders, faith-based community leaders, leaders in nonprofit and for-profit organizations, board members, residency programs & trainings.

Leading with Emotional Intelligence

One of the most vital skills to have in today’s workplace, Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to perceive, control and evaluate emotions in oneself and others, and to use that information appropriately. Organizations that value and widely use EI are 3-times more effective at leadership development and are more likely to be highly profitable.  

This workshop will give your team members the information and tools needed to understand:

  • What EI is and why is it important

  • The 5 factors of EI (Perceiving, Managing, Decision Making, Achieving and Influencing)

  • Developing your emotional and social skills.

You’ll be asked to take the Emotional Intelligence Skills Assessment and will be instructed in the interpretation of their results. This 8-hour workshop can be split up if need be.

Take the first steps toward eliminating health disparities and gathering allies to join in the conversation. Topics covered during the workshop include:

  • How to obtain buy-in

Participants will be asked to take the DiSC Assessment, and the StrengthsFinder Assessment. Books and materials are included in the cost.

Mental Health First Aid Training

This skills-based training course teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues. Three key components will be used to identify, understand, and respond to those dealing with mental health issues or emotional distress. What You’ll Learn:

  • Risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems.

  • Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders.

  • A 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or in crisis.

  • Where to turn for help — professional, peer, and self-help resources.

Topics Covered:

  • Depression and mood disorders

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Trauma Psychosis

  • Substance Use disorders

Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well. Learn how to apply the Mental Health First Aid action plan in a variety of situations, including when someone is experiencing:

  • Panic attacks Suicidal thoughts or behaviors

  • Non-suicidal self-injury

  • Acute psychosis (e.g., hallucinations or delusions)

  • Overdose or withdrawal from alcohol or drug use Reaction to a traumatic event

The opportunity to practice through role plays, scenarios, and activities makes it easier to apply these skills in a real-life situation.

Best for audience type: Anyone including school counselors, community leaders, nonprofits that deal with community members.

Desired Outcomes: To be able spot the early signs & symptoms of someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress.
